For decades Little 5 Points has served as a go-to place for anyone looking to experience a unique slice of urban counterculture.  To call it a retail and entertainment destination would be missing the point.  Little 5 Points is an authentic Atlanta experience – one that mixes grit and creativity with underground theatre, cutting-edge music and unique mom-and-pop shops.  While these eccentricities are integral to Little 5 Points as a great place, its public spaces, streets, sidewalks and parking lots are long overdue for improvements.

The Little 5 Points CID and Little 5 Points Alliance are starting an ambitious effort to redesign the “bones” of L5P, with specific focus on Euclid Avenue and overall parking management.  

The Inman Park Neighborhood Association Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020, 7:30 pm at the Trolley Barn. The following items are on the agenda. All are welcome. Childcare will be provided. Food is provided by Hampton and Hudson and Nina and Rafi. 

February 19 Pre-meeting - Senator Nan Orrock will join IPNA at 6:30 P.M. for a screening and follow-up discussion of Suppressed: The Right to Vote, plus a live demonstration of Georgia’s new voting machines

A Discussion on the state of Georgia’s Senior Care Facilities

A follow-up on the AJC’s investigative report series “Unprotected”.  The program will look at the issues raised, proposed legislative responses and the on-going need for a collaborative consumer driven response to ensure quality care for all of Georgia’s residents living in assisted living and personal care communities.

The Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes requires hundreds of volunteers to be successful.  There are 26 areas where you can volunteer for only a 2 hour shift (comes with free beer for the 21+ crowd).  Take a couple hours to help, meet some new neighbors, have fun and feel like you are part of running the best festival in the city.  We are the largest volunteer-run festival in the Southeast!  We need your help.

Proposed Homestead Exemptions from School Taxes--Plan A

Retain present Homestead exemption from school taxes (enacted in 2018 and in effect until 2021). Exempts $50,000 of assessed value above the first $10,000.  Everyone pays school taxes on the first $10,000 in valuation; school taxes are exempted up to assessed values of $60,000; beyond that valuation, there are presently no additional exemptions. 

The Krog Street tunnel will be partially closed/closed for filming on Jan 8,9&10.  See notice below for specifics on times and the type of closure. While this affects our neighbors to the south more than Inman Park, we want everyone to be safe!

IPNA will be printing new membership directories early next year.  If you want to be in the new directory, please go to inmanpark.org, login to check your profile and make sure all your information is correct. If you have a spouse/partner/significant other, make sure they are also a member of IPNA so they can be cross-referenced in the directory. If you have a s/p/so listed under your profile but they have not joined individually, they cannot be cross-referenced. IPNA membership is by individual, not household, while security patrol membership is by household.

We encourage everyone to check out their profile and make any corrections. This makes the job of printing the directory much easier on the individuals who are facilitating this process. Also, ask your friends and neighbors to join. The more, the merrier!
