IPNA Volunteer Event

Here is the rundown for the IPNA Meeting, November 28, 2018, 7:30 pm at the Trolley Barn. All IPNA residents are welcome.
Agenda Summary:
Inman Park Master Plan Update
Oreon Mann's Memorial Service Details
It will be on Tuesday, September 4 at 6 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta. You may think that you know where this church is located but you need to know that they have moved out of their previous building as of three weeks ago. They are now in an office building at 1190 West Druid Hills Drive NE, #150, Atlanta, GA 30329. GPS should take you to the correct place but, just in case, take I-85 to North Druid Hills Road exit and turn left. Go past the Salvation Army church and turn left at the McDonald’s. Do not go as far as Buford Highway. There will be a short reception immediately following the service.
Claudia has asked that no flowers be sent. They would prefer that you make a donation to the charity of your choice. You should tell the charity to send the acknowledgment to Claudia Ammann at 8746 South 1405 West, West Jordan, UT 84088. They would also be happy to receive letters and cards at that same address.
Letter:
The Inman Park Neighborhood Association (IPNA) strongly supports the DeKalb Avenue Complete Street project because it will enhance the safety and accessibility of a primary Atlanta eastside corridor for people who walk, require ADA access, bike, drive, and take MARTA.
May's IPNA meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Trolley Barn, 7:30 pm.
This month we'll vote on new board members:
Beverly Miller to serve as President, Jonathan Miller to serve as Vice President for Zoning, Rick Bizot to serve as Vice President for Planning, and Jeff Oliver to serve as Treasurer.
At the April meeting Renew Atlanta discussed the improvements they plan to make to N. Highland. Below is the link to those renderings.

Minutes of Last Meeting
The IPNA board has adopted the following procedures to facilitate an orderly consideration of the
application to rezone the parcels at 320 N. Highland (Villa de Grip) at the upcoming monthly meeting.
1. The applicant will present their proposal (15 minutes)
2. The IPNA Working Group will present their recommendation (5 minutes)
3. Question and answer period (20 minutes total)
Residents will be able to ask questions of the applicant or the IPNA working group.
Questions should be actual questions rather than commentary in the form of a question
(as you will note, there is a separate period below for commentary). Questions will be
limited to 30 seconds and answers will be limited to 1 minute.
4. Comments (20 minutes total)
Residents may line up to make comments on the proposal in light of the presentations
and question-and-answers. Each comment will be limited to 1 minute.
5. Vote
This month we'll vote on Villa de Grip's rezoning plan. The working group who has been working on the plan with the developers have determined they cannot support the application for rezoning in it's current form. The Villa de Grip site is currently a buffer for residential into the commercial district of the neighborhood. The group feels the project, which will have no residential at all, is too commercially dense and intensive. The developers want a density that is more than 4 times what is currently allowed. A letter was sent to the developer from IP President Neil Kinkopf citing specific concerns. The letter can be read here in it's entirety. The format for the Villa de Grip portion of the meeting can be read here.
Also on the Agenda, we'll update on the Moreland Corridor Report, announce the nominating committee for the board and vote on Ro Lawson for board Secretary.
Join us at the Trolley Barn, Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm for the Inman Park Social. Food will be available for purchase from the Good Food Truck. Free beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided by the IPNA. The Inman Park Festival volunteer committee will be on hand to answer all your questions and give you more information about volunteer opportunities. The Inman Park Festival is one of the oldest volunteer run festivals in the city. Shifts include house sitting for the tour of homes, trash pickup with the best crew around, beer truck shift, and working the stages with the bands. To sign-up for a shift click here.
Inman Park Neighborhood Association Committees will also be on hand to discuss the volunteer work they do to keep the neighborhood running.
Come out and eat some food, drink some beer and chat with your neighbors! We'll see you there! You can RSVP to the event on our Facebook page.

Homelessness: Atlanta’s Approach. What works and what does not.
January 4th. 10:00 AM. Inman Park Church.
Atlanta’s chronic Homeless population has dropped 61% since 2013, however, there remains over 3,500 men, women, and children in need of permanent shelter (with 700 of those still on the street) according to Partners for HOMES. Come be part of the discussion and learn how the City of Atlanta and the United Way funding of 50 million dollars is an opportunity to end chronic homelessness and make the state of being homeless rare and brief.
