Dear Neighbors:

During this pandemic, we’ve all been told to shelter in place.
But what about the most vulnerable among us who have no place to shelter?

As those of you who came to our April 15 IPNA Zoom Meeting heard from Councilmember Amir Farokhi, the City of Atlanta is testing our homeless neighbors for COVID-19 and is housing those who test positive in a downtown hotel that has been converted to isolation housing. Homeless COVID-19 patients are cared for in the isolation hotel, giving them a safe place to recover and helping prevent the further spread of the disease. Another local hotel is being converted into housing for the city’s homeless population to keep our most vulnerable neighbors safe.

Recent Robberies in Our Area

RECENT ROBBERIES IN OUR AREA

Just a brief note to advise that a series of three armed robberies were reported on the night of Thursday, June 20th in our area. One happened in Candler Park on McLendon. One occurred on Caroline Street by the Edgewood Retail District, and the third in Inman Park on Euclid near Hurt Street. The police report that the perpetrators were three black males driving a “green or brown box type SUV.” Two of the males were armed with handguns. While we hope that this is a one-off incident, please be super careful and aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Watch out for slow moving vehicles. Lastly, if anyone in the area around Euclid/Hurt has video feed that might have captured some of this, please contact either Inman Park Security or Atlanta police.
